The Delaware National Guard Plane Pull to benefit Special Olympics pits teams of 20 against a C-130 aircraft in a battle of strength, stamina and fun!
During the Plane Pull, teams of 20 compete against each other to see who can pull the C-130 aircraft 12 feet in the fastest time - and that’s no easy task, because a C-130 weighs 100,000 pounds, is 97 feet long, has a wing span of 132 feet, and stands 38 feet high!
Held at the Delaware Air National Guard base in New Castle, the Plane Pull continues to grow in popularity each year, and since its inception in 1995 has raised more than $180,000 for Special Olympics Delaware.
It’s a great event for high school organizations and sports teams, civic groups, businesses, clubs, military personnel and churches to come together to support Special Olympics. In order to participate, high school teams pay a $250 entry fee, while all other teams pay $500.
