Last year I ran on World Run Day in response to a person who had inspired me professionally as well as in my new found love of running.
I have enjoyed the experience of giving and doing something positive with my running. This year for World Run Day, I decided to run for an agency that gave so much support to my father-in-law Rick Siebert in the final weeks in his battle with cancer. He was able to be at home with his family: his wife, his four wonderful daughters and a slew of adoring grandchildren.
This time was precious for Rick's family and I imagine Rick took a lot of comfort in having all his loved ones close by. Friends came from all over to visit him in his home he had built with his wife for so many decades.
Visiting Nurse Service of Rochester provided the comfort and compassion to Rick and the family. This is a vital service for those families going through such difficult times. Please join me in giving support to VNS- Hospice and Palliative Care, in Honor of Rick Siebert.
More information on VNS can be found at: www.vnsnet.com/hospice.htm
