Hi Everyone,
I'm back again this year serving as a Pet Walk Committee member and Team Leader (Paws in Motion) to ask my family and friends to help support our annual petwalk at the Providence Animal Rescue League on September 13th at Roger Williams Park. PARL has taken in over 2,000 cats, dogs and small animals annually and due to the economy it has increased by 35%. Not all animals are as lucky as Kaylee and Fabio. At PARL we have seen homeless, abused and very sick animals come into the league. I am proud to be a volunteer there because the staff is so caring and loving to these animals. We need to raise money to continue placing these pets into great homes by giving them medical care, training, continue to vaccinate, spay/neuter and microchip them before they go to their forever homes. PLEASE donate to such a great cause because they give us their loyalty and unconditional love. Fabio, my cat in the picture was adopted 18 years ago from PARL and has been diagnosed with chronic renal failure. He is doing good and still loving through his disease. I administer subcutaneous IV fluids 3x a week to slow his progression, but there is no cure for CRF. He has been a blessing to us for the past 18 years and I hope he can be with us a little longer. If you are thinking of getting a new pet, please consider a shelter animal and do not give into a pet store since most of them are from puppy mills or backyard breeders. Thank you so much!
