UPDATE!!!! Thanks to your help, we've managed to raise $7,160.00 so far for Special Operations Warrior Foundation. I know there are a few hundred more coming in from people who didn''t get to the site before today so the number should row a bit! Bill and I tried our best to do you all proud today. We cut 6 minutes off of last year's time and got down to 79 minutes. The site doesn't disburse the funds to SOWF until the end of the month so it will remain up and active until noon on October 31. Please continue to spread the word and maybe we can get the final tally up to $10,000 before the end of the month. Thanks to all of you for your support and generosity for the family members of those who didn't make it back. Please send our page on to anyone who might like to donate! http://www.firstgiving.com/mickcrnkovicharmy10-miler Mick and Bill
I have signed up with my old Army buddy, Bill Hyjek, to run the Army Ten Miler again this year. This will be my and Bill's second go at this great event. We are hoping to improve our time by 10 minutes this year. This year I have taken up a donation pool. My charity of choice is the Special Operations Warrior Foundation. This great organization raises money to provide for grants and scholarships for the children and family members left behind by special operations soldiers who have been killed in combat or training accidents. These great men and women sacrifice much time away from loved ones and endure great harship and danger to be on the cutting edge of our nation's military forces. Whether you are for or against the conflicts should not matter - these men and women have given their lives in defense of their fellow brothers and sisters on the battlefield. What it really comes down to is the brotherhood and sisterhood that these individuals felt and their belief in the buddies to their left and right. Their belief in that was so strong they gave the ultimate sacrifice. The family members they left behind benefit greatly from this organization. You can check out their website at http://www.specialops.org/ It is a great organization and I hope you will help me reach my goal of $15,000 between now and October 5, the date of the Army Ten Miler. You can find out more about the race at http://www.armytenmiler.com/ and my registration confirmation number for this year's race is 737104. For those of you that would like to follow the donations, check this site often!!! Also, for all those that donate, I will put out a monthly update to keep you all apprised of where we stand.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
