Support Connection was founded in 1996 in response to the need for comprehensive breast and ovarian cancer support services in Northern Westchester and surrounding areas. Since then, our services have expanded to help people around the country via our toll-free Hotline and website. The founding members of the organization were all people who had been personally affected by breast or ovarian cancer. Many are still involved with the organization today. Support Connection's primary mission is to provide emotional, social and educational support services to women, their families and friends affected by breast and ovarian cancer. The support provided enables women to help each other and empowers them to become their own healthcare advocates. Support is provided via one-on-one peer counseling, support groups, wellness programs, public educational forums, and provision of individualized resource information. In addition to offering these direct services, Support Connection is also dedicated to raising public awareness about these diseases, increasing access to education and screening information, and joining in advocacy efforts that seek to find a cure.
