As many of you may know, our mother, Margaret Guerin received exceptional care from the unique team at Mass Eye and Ear in 2004. The specialists at Mass Eye and Ear, especially Dr. Richard Fabian and Dr. Gregory Randolph, were able to treat her rare and serious form of cancer and truly saved her life. We are so very grateful for the work that these doctors did for our mom, and for the work that they do for the many other patients with diseases of the head and neck.

This year, our fundraising efforts will directly support  the development of MEEI's Thyroid and Parathyroid Center of Excellence. The goal of the Center of Excellence is to transform surgical care of patients with thyroid/parathyroid cancers by developing safer, better surgical techniques and devices, disseminating their adoption globally, and training future global leaders.

Under the direction of Dr. Randolph, the Center will serve as an integrated hub for surgical care, research and education in diseases affecting the thyroid and parathyroid glands. A key objective will be to improve survival rates of patients with thyroid cancers while preserving their speech, breathing and swallowing. The Center will also work with affiliates worldwide to provide patient information, train specialized surgeons, and conduct research.
