Description: The mission of Engineers Without BordersTM - USA (EWB-USA) is to partner with disadvantaged communities to improve their quality of life through implementation of environmentally, equitable, and economically sustainable engineering projects, while developing internationally responsible engineering students.
Mission: EWB-USA's outward vision is of a world where all people have access to adequate sanitation, safe drinking water, and the resources to meet their other self-identified engineering and economic development needs. EWB-USA contributes with its partners to meeting the Millennium Development Goals set by the United Nations General Assembly on September 18, 2000 through capacity building. Capacity building is defined as ".. the building of human, institutional and infrastructure capacity to help societies develop secure, stable and sustainable economies, governments and other institutions through mentoring, training, education, physical projects, the infusion of financial and other resources, and most importantly, the motivation and inspiration of people to improve their lives" (Hatch, 2004). EWB-USA also endorses the Earth Charter. | My personal message: |
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Women and Children in Miramar, El Salvador carry water up 200' vertical feet from a small polluted stream. They need water for drinking, cooking and cleaning. We are working on a groundwater supply for them to have water delivered directly to their home.
The cost of the first phase of this project is about $10,000, and togeather we are sure that we can riase the funds. About $5,000 has been raised so far. The total cost includes drilling and preparing a well as well as travel expenses for Drexel Students. Please help us to help this community and to have a successful and rewarding trip.
Engineers Without Borders is an exciting organization that is making a big difference in the lives of Drexel students and the residents of Miramar.
Please help us to provide a drinking water well for the community this December by making an online donation today. We will be traveling to Miramar on December 17, 2007, right after final exams to work with Miramar residents and provide clean water to them.
The experience is educational and rewarding for students and residents and I hope that you can be a part by contributing to this cause.
If you want further updates, please email ewbdrexel@gmail.com and we will fill you in on the progress of the trip. Also, for more information on the project, check out: Project fact Sheet
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
