Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for LAWRENCE HUMANE SOCIETY INC!
Recently I have decided to run for a cause. It's exciting to push one's body beyond limitations, but it's better to do so for others suffering. One prime example of that is the sheltered animals. When I think of the abuse and neglect these animals face, there is simply no distance that I can run that will allow me to feel the suffering these animals feel.
But to have just an iota of an idea of the suffering they go through, I'm willing to run any distance longer than marathon distance (26.2 miles). This will benefit the Lawrence Humane Society (LHS) to provide some cats and dogs with the ability to eat and have their immunization shots up-to-date.
I'm only starting with a goal of $200 because I'm not trying to be greedy. Every dollar will help, to be honest. Therefore, the LHS would be eternally grateful for $200. If I can raise more, that's great. If not, then at least the animals are given something and it eliminates a little bit of their suffering.
As a note: I'm running a 50-miler April 4th, 2009, but I decided since it's only a few weeks away, I'll do a fundraiser for my next race on the 25th. So I'm actually going to run the 50M for them as well just without an official fundraiser. Therefore, if you'd like to donate for my 50-miler, I'll consider it all the same with this fundraising page.
Personally, I cannot see any better way to give back to animals that have only love in their heart and would love nothing more than to receive some of that love returned.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
I sincerely appreciate and thank you for any financial support in my endeavor -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at msauciuc@gmail.com and I'll be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
I will definitely be running more of these in the near future, so stay tuned!
