has been raising, training and providing guide dogs for blind and visually-impaired Israelis since 1991. Whether they were born blind or lost their sight in military operations or terrorist incidents, to illness or to injury, our graduates discover a whole new world of freedom, safe mobility and independence through the use of guide dogs.
Our professional staff and dedicated volunteers care for our exceptional canines from conception through retirement and offer 24/7 support and assistance to our clients, both two-and four-legged, throughout the life of each Partnership.
The creation and sustenance of each Partnership between handler and Guide Dog costs about $25,000. Yet, we provide the dog, training, instruction, support and regular home visits completely free-of-charge.
The Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind is a registered non-profit organization supported almost entirely by people "with vision".
