My personal message:
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page I am raising money for The American Red Cross helping thousands of people affected by disasters like the recent Hurricane Katrina. This is my second marathon. I ran the TC Marathon last year with my brother Tim. We finished together hand in hand at a time of 5:19. This years goal is 3:59. Tim unfortunately will not be running this year. He had run the TC Marathon in 1992 at a time of 4:20 and his second marathon last year which he vowed to be his last.
I have been training a bit more than last year and at least know now that I can finish. To run an hour & twenty minutes faster is bitter sweet in my opinion. Of course the pace needs to be faster but I will be exercising for a lot less time. That is the current motivating factor anyway.
Come out Sunday October 2 and cheer me on. I could not believe all of the people and the fun, music, food, & beverages that was being had at last years marathon. We start @ 8 am at he Metrodome and end at the Capital in St Paul. I will be wearing a white shirt with a Red Cross (often mistaken as an official first aid guy by runners & spectators).
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to my fundraising efforts.

I totally appreciate your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Sincerely, Marc R. Kowalski 9/3/05 update: Completed 17 miles in 2:58 and felt pretty good. Conditions were great - approx 62 degrees around 9 am. Training run was around Lake Calhoun, Harriet, Isles then Calhoun & Harriet again. Goo works ! 9/10/05 update: Completed 18 miles in 3:11. A little warmer today - almost 80 by end of run (11am). I am soo ready for the big day I can hardly wait. Training will be a little less intense from here on out. See you all Oct 2nd on the course ! 9/30/05 update: Pasta, hot tub, water, rest... these are a few of my favorite things. Tick tock... Hello Everyone - I made it ! I thought I had updated this but it must not have saved... anywhoo, I lost my bet with brother Tim but beat my last years time by 30 minutes. Clock time was 4hrs 51 mins. and chip time was 4 hrs 45 mins. I will send out an email w/ details soon. Thanks again to all of you who supported me in the TC Marathon and my goal to raise money for The Red Cross ! Sincerely, Marc Kowalski
