Dear friends,
This October 21st will be four years since Asya took her own life. She would have been 21 years-old and possibly enjoying some of the best times of her life. Sadly, to her family and friends, she will always remain 17 as the day when she passed.
It is impossible to bring Asya back, but it is still possible to help other people who are desperate, depressed, and need someone to talk to--just to feel that they are not alone in this world. Sometimes, just one conversation can save a human life. The life line, provided by Samaritans volunteers, supports people in going through difficult times and also survivors left behind after a family member or friend commits suicide.
On October 3rd, I will be running in Asya's honor at the 11th annual Samaritans 5K run/walk. Asya was involved in sports for many years: first in swimming and later rock climbing. She was an absolutely fearless and dedicated climber and twice competed at the Nationals. During my run, I know that Asya will be with me as I run to celebrate her life. I know that these are tough financial times for everyone, but even a small donation will go a long way in supporting a very important cause. Thanks in advance for your support.
The best and safest way to donate is using this Fundraising Page.
