MO-FEAT's 2009 Sponsor a Family Campaign

GOAL: We want each of the 1,000 Missouri families who receives a diagnosis of autism for their child this year to leave the evaluation with a sense of direction and support.

HOW YOU CAN HELP: You will sponsor 2 families to receive key resources for every $10 donation you make to MO-FEAT's Sponsor a Family Campaign. The families you sponsor will receive a parent packet containing:

• Navigating Autism Services: A Community Guide for Missouri (NEW!)
• MO-FEAT's 2009 Statewide Autism Resource Directory
• Helpful information on what to do first to access Missouri services and get help for their child quickly!

We can then help the family to connect with a trained MO-FEAT mentor family for emotional and listening support.

Sponsor a Family lasts now through June 3rd. The person who raises funds to sponsor the most families will be honored with the first Heart of MO-FEAT award at our 2009 Heart and Sol event on June 10th, and will receive two complimentary tickets to this fun evening of celebration!

What an opportunity to really make a difference in getting a family off to a supportive start in their journey with autism.

To provide education, advocacy, and support for Missouri families and the autism community and to promote early diagnosis and effective autism treatment.

• MO-FEAT Statewide Autism Resource Directory
• Informational Publications on Autism
• Parent-Professional Meetings on Autism-Related Topics
• Conferences for Professionals and the community with national speakers

Support

• Family mentorship program: connecting families to other families
• Phone support for resources and information (toll-free)
• Respite (childcare) provided so families can attend our meetings

Advocacy

• Active support for autism-related legislation with a current focus on autism insurance coverage for Missouri
• Representation on the Missouri Commission for Autism Spectrum Disorders
• Representation on the Missouri Standards Project, developing standards for screening and diagnostis of autism in Missouri
