Montcalm County Habitat for Humanity is celebrating it's 25th year of improving the lives of people in our community by building and rehabilitating homes and providing critical home repairs for low income, senior and handicapped individuals who otherwise would not be able to afford them.
Your donation or fundraising efforts will make it possible to begin construction this summer on Montcalm Habitat’s 20th home, impacting the lives of our 20th, hard-working, low-income partner-family.
Habitat builds homes for working families whose living conditions are unsound, unsafe or overcrowded. Habitat builds new homes, with skilled volunteers, and sells them with no-interest mortgages.
In addition to a down payment and monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor, called "sweat equity", into building their home and the houses of others.
A Habitat home is not a giveaway program. All Habitat homes are built with volunteer labor, hundreds of hours of homeowner “sweat equity“ and donated/discounted materials. The home is then purchased by our partner families on a no-profit, no-interest mortgages held by Habitat.
Your donation or fundraising effort will also help us raise funds to complete up to 10 critical home repair projects planned for this year, including wheelchair ramps, for low income handicapped and senior homeowners in Greenville and Montcalm County.
100% of the funds raised at the “Spin the Spokes” event are used for construction, rehabilitation and critical home repair projects. All of Habitat’s administrative costs are covered by proceeds from our ReStore donation/retail operation.
Our ReStore also diverts many tons of material from our local landfills annually, preserving our environment.
Habitat projects, made possible, by this event, also provide opportunities for hundreds of people in Greenville and Montcalm County to “give back” to their community. Your donation will have a profound, positive impact on each of their lives as well.
Whether you donate, purchase from our ReStore or volunteer, you are helping us build homes, community and hope in Montcalm County.
