My personal message:

Remembering the words of Dr. Maria Montessori...

"The land is where our roots are. The children must be taught to feel and live in harmony with the Earth."

Monocacy Valley Montessori Public Charter School is excited to join with the Frederick Community and take part in Volunteer Frederick's "The BIG Sweep".

About the Event:  The BIG Sweep is a one-day county beautification project where participants collect pledges to benefit their non-profit organization, and they clean-up litter along Frederick County roads and in the Frederick City watershed.  This year the annual event will take place on April 25th, 2009.  The proceeds earned by Monocacy Valley Montessori Public Charter School (MVMPCS) will be used to support MVMPCS student academic programs and materials.

About our School:  Monocacy Valley Montessori Public Charter School is the first public charter school in the state of Maryland and we are proud to be in our seventh year of operation. Our academic program, based on the teaching methods of Dr. Maria Montessori, serves over 290 children from across Frederick County. Tuition-free enrollment is open through an annual lottery to all Frederick County students in preschool through 8th grade.  To learn more about our school, please visit our web site at www.mvms.info.

How to Register:  Individuals can sign up to be part of our BIG Sweep team, "Montessori Meerkats," by returning their individual registration forms to MVMPCS at 217 Dill Avenue, Frederick, MD 21701, Attn: BIG Sweep.  Anyone interested is welcome.  All registration forms are due to MVMPCS by March 27th, 2009.  For additional information please e-mail your questions to schoolfundraising@comcast.net.

How to Pledge your Support of MVMPCS:  Donations can be made by contacting one of our team members, by completing a pledge form and returning it to MVMPCS, or by making a simple, fast and totally secure donation through this website.  Checks, written out to "The BIG Sweep", should be returned to MVMPCS (see address above) by April 15th, 2009.  All donations are fully tax-deductible (Tax ID # 52-6000-941).

Thank you for your consideration and for forwarding this information to anyone you feel may be interested.  The MVMPCS community is pleased to know such kind friends of education.
