Montgomery Hospice is proud to be participating in Hospice Cup, the nation's first charity sailing regatta, on September 27, 2008. Thank you for supporting Hospice Cup and specifically thank you for supporting the Montgomery Hospice Bereavement Care Team.
Grief is a natural reaction to loss, and one that each of us experiences differently. Montgomery Hospice offers bereavement care, sometimes called grief care, in ways that fit each person's values, beliefs and culture. Bereavement counseling is provided through support groups and workshops, visits, phone calls and regular mailings of self-help materials. Montgomery Hospice Bereavement Care is available to all who live and work in Montgomery County. Besides assistance to individuals, grief support and education is available to:
- Professional caregivers in nursing homes and other facilities where staff are mourning patients who have died
- Businesses helping employees cope with the death of a co-worker
- Schools helping children and teens understand and manage loss
- Faith communities supporting their grieving members
Montgomery Hospice is rare among local organizations for having at least one experienced, professional counselor as a co-facilitator in all bereavement groups and workshops.
Children and teens are supported by the Montgomery Hospice Bereavement Care Team with specialized age-appropriate programs designed to help children (and their parents or guardians) adjust and adapt to loss.
Thank you again for supporting the Hospice Cup and the Montgomery Hospice Bereavement Care Team. Don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
