We have an immediate need in our community. We know the number of expectant girls & women in difficult relationships in our community is increasing.  Typically these expectant mothers are high school students, or single adults who are unemployed and without resources to financially provide for their babies or themselves.

We are also experiencing an alarming decline in the number of expectant girls & women seeking help from adoption agencies.  This is greatly reducing the number given the opportunity to think through ALL of their options.  Without Bethany and other organizations reaching out, they are increasingly relying on sources of information that are encouraging abortion (like the federal government increasing spending on abortions), or teen parenting without needed support that is available in the community.  Very little consideration, if any, is given to ‘loving options’ that include equipping mothers who would otherwise be ill-equipped to single parent, and adoption if parenting is not chosen.

Tamara’s Story

Typically, when we help expectant mothers, a few will marry the fathers and become a family earlier than expected. Most will be scared and not know what to do.  Some will abort their babies.  Some will take time to think about their options.

Bethany is called to help these expectant women by providing options with MORE LOVE!

Networking and flexible service delivery are key to provide MORE LOVE to help them sort through their options.  After learning of 18 pregnant teens in one school in an underserved part of the state, we began sending a pregnancy counselor to assist with individual counseling & education.  We also seek to increase collaboration, training, and closer working relationships with crisis pregnancy centers, and churches.  We seek to encourage each woman to make an informed decision that is in the best interest of her child and herself.

To provide for the needs of these expectant mothers in our community, I need your support.  I’m starting with my personal gift of $500.  Will you join me with a gift before December 31, 2009 to help raise $15,000?
