Strut for Strays May 20, 2012

Strut for Strays May 20, 2012

2012 marks our 17th Strut for Strays, a three mile walk for people and pets to benefit homeless cats and kittens.

The Strut will take place on Sunday, May 20th from 11am until 4pm (rain or shine) at the Bartlett Mall in Newburyport, MA.

The event will feature the local blues/rock band Soul Robot.

Providing food and shelter to cats until they find forever homes only scratches the surface of services provided by MRFRS. We never end the life of a cat prematurely just because they are homeless, lost or feral; in fact, we do not euthanize any of our feline residents (even if they are FIV+ or FeLV+) unless it is medically necessary. Our shelter is a safe haven for many cats who would otherwise be in a rather perilous position. We have mobile spay/neuter facilities, known as the Catmobile, which offer affordable sterilization & Rabies vaccinations. MRFRS also hosts a feral spay/neuter clinic every month in Methuen MA, which helps to reduce the number of stray cats trying to survive in the wild. The organization is run by compassionate staff and volunteers and has made a huge impact in many local communities and on the lives of thousands of cats in the nearly 20 years since it was founded in 1992.
