Welcome to the FAITHFUL FRIENDS – Keeping the Promise –
Capital Campaign for a new building

Help Minnesota Valley Humane Society with a financial gift!

Divine intervention, fate, or happenstance; whatever the reason the results share the same happy ending…

As some of you may know, we’ve recently closed on the sale of our existing building to the Eden Baptist Church. That means we’re officially homeless. And although our church neighbors have generously agreed to lease the building back to us on a month by month basis, that agreement is only temporary.

This also means our search for a new building has taken on a renewed urgency.

Believe it or not, the decision by the Burnsville City Council to deny our bid to purchase the former Maxsun Furniture building may be the best thing that could have happened to us. Changing market conditions and a further decline in Minnesota’s business climate has resulted in a larger number of available buildings for sale, many at significantly lower prices. While not a great thing for the south metro real estate market, it has presented MVHS with a host of possible options we couldn’t have foreseen even a few short months ago.

Over the last several weeks, our building committee has toured dozens of sites throughout the south metro. We’ve narrowed our search to buildings in Apple Valley, Lakeville and Eagan and expect to have a final decision on a new building site within the next several weeks.

As has always been our intention, our move to new site will give us the opportunity to upgrade to a healthier animal and human environment, expand our existing services and help even more animals. From our new location in the growing south metro, we will continue to serve the communities of Apple Valley, Bloomington, Burnsville, Eagan, Farmington, Lakeville, Prior Lake, Richfield, Rosemount, Savage, Shakopee, as well as areas in between from Hastings to Northfield. We will continue to provide:

·        Public outreach and education
·        Therapeutic pet visits to the elderly
·        Animal surrender and adoption
·        A sought after resource across the entire Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area.

With time growing short for us to finalize a new building purchase, make necessary renovations and complete a move by our spring deadline, it’s more important than ever for us to move full steam ahead with our Capital Campaign. A strong financial position will allow us to move quickly once a final site is selected and will help us keep providing a safe haven for our animal friends who will otherwise be homeless.
