Hello All:
This is my sister's male golden retriever, Shiloh. Shi and I have been volunteering with Pets on Wheels for three years and visit Genesis Cromwell in Baltimore County at least twice a month.
This is a wonderful experience for Shiloh, me and the residents and employees at Genesis. The residents look forward to seeing Shi and some keep dog treats in their rooms to spoil him with. Shiloh looks forward to his visits and enthusiastically walks all over begging for pets, sitting and giving his paw and giving residents plenty of licks to show his love. Some of the residents respond to very little stimulus but continue to smile, call Shiloh's name and reach out to pet him each and every time we are there. The employees enjoy seeing Shiloh and will make a fuss over him. He's made true friends there and brought joy to everyone he encounters.
Pets on Wheels volunteer teams visit more than 300 facilities throughout the Baltimore metro area, Cecil, Carroll and Harford Counties, This not for profit organization has numerous expenses including the insurance to cover the animals that are visiting. With only two part time employees, the volunteers step up to fill in on everything that needs to be done to keep the organization solvent. Pets on Wheels exhibits at numerous events, walks in parades and has been a huge supporter of pet related causes.
Our annual Dog-A-Thon is our biggest fundraiser and we are hoping that this year will out do our previous events. We can do this with your help. Please sponsor Shiloh and me for the walk and donate to this very worthy cause, The people we reach out to will appreciate it!
Thanks for your support!
Nancy
