Why Fundraise for Nashville Zoo?

The Zoo helps children: Our educators interact with thousands of children each year, providing a unique experience for all. They see firsthand how children respond to animals and further their own physical and social skills: children with limited motor skills walk to touch an animal, a feather or a bone, and children with speech and memory difficulties call out to an education animal using their name.

The Zoo gives families lasting memories: A military wife recently came to the Zoo with her children and relayed a story of their family visiting the Zoo when her husband was on leave from military service overseas. Six months later, he was killed in action. The Zoo had provided this woman and her children some of the last irreplaceable memories of their husband and father.

The Zoo works on behalf of the Earth and environment: Nashville Zoo is involved in conservation efforts here in Tennessee and around the world, efforts that work to maintain animal species and the Earth as we know it, so that generations to come - the descendants of our own families - can experience and enjoy animals, plants, trees, sunshine - all the great things our natural world has to offer.

Please note: Prizes are not cumulative. All monies must be received by January 11, 2013 to qualify.
