Over 100 years ago Big Brothers Big Sisters was founded on the belief that one-to-one mentoring can have a significant and positive impact on the lives of children. And they were right. According to the results of the first-ever nationwide impact study of a mentoring organization, children who participated in BBBS programs were less likely to begin using illegal drugs, less likely to begin using alcohol, less likely to skip school, less likely to skip a class, and the list goes on.
