Our personal message:

This year I walk in honor and memory of my big brothers, Jack Harrington and David Harrington.  I did not lose them to AIDS: they each died suddenly in 2001 and 2006.  But in our 5 decades together, both David and Jack taught me, each in his way, how to stand up and speak for what I know is right and good, and to stand in silence to protest what is wrong.

As a sexuality educator since 1977, I have helped folks unravel, decode and defuse complex information, myths, feelings and dangerous assumptions about sexuality.  I have seen attitudes and awareness ebb and flow as we move in and out of denial about AIDS.  So many current controversies have a subtext of sexuality: HPV vaccine; stem cell research; gay marriage; abortion; AIDS. 

It is my passion to create conversations about sexuality that are honest and healthy.

 

I walk the AIDSWALK because it is right and good to bring HIV/AIDS out into the light of a spring day, so we can all see that there is hope.  Please join me in my efforts and donate what you can to AIDSWALK Kansas City 2007.  Jack and David would be proud.
