New Hope Center for Grief Support is a bereavement outreach center located in Northville, Michigan. We provide grief support services through groups, seminars, and other resources. Our mission, centered in Christian principles, is to help people work through grief and offer hope and healing to all who seek our services. People of any faith, race, gender, or age are encouraged and invited to benefit from our grief support services which are offered at no charge.
New Hope specializes in offering age and loss specific support to adults and children who are grieving. Being in a support group with others who have had a similar loss provides the best opportunity for people to work through the grief process. The following age and loss specific groups are offered on an ongoing basis:
Circles of Hope – For young widows and widowers – many still have children at home.
Starting Again – For middle aged widows and widowers – our “empty nesters”
Wayfarers – For retirement age widows and widowers – this group meets during the day
Parents of Hope – For parents who have lost a child
New Hope for KIDZ and Teens – For children and teens who have lost a loved one
We also sponsored the “Michigan Families of 9/11” support group for family members of those who lost a loved one on 9/11. This group met for 4 years and was completed in early 2007.
New Hope also offers an 8 week series called From Grief to New Hope several times throughout the year in several cities throughout southeastern Michigan. This is a structured series which combines a presentation about a particular aspect of the grief process each week with an opportunity for those attending to talk about their grief in a small group with others who have had a similar loss. Periodically, this seminar is offered in a one-day format.
New Hope relies soley on fundraising events, business support and individual donations in order to provide grief support services free to everyone who calls on us for support. Thank you for considering to contribute to the success of our grief outreach programs.
