Welcome to Hospice Cup Fundraising!

Congratulations to all who joined us for the Hospice Cup XXVII on September 27, 2008, to raise money for participating hospices of Maryland, Virginia and Washington,DC. While the weather did not cooperate for sailors, the sun was still shining on the event as we raised over $350,000 towards hospice care.

We would like to congratulate the winning team and club for our annual fundraising awards:
- The Hank Lawton Award (crew raising the most money) - Angelo Guarino of Severna Park, MD, of Bella Donna
- The Club Fundraising Award (club raising the most money as a grou) - Chesapeake Bay Sabre Association .

Thanks to all of our donors and fundraisiers for making this year's event successful.

Hospice is Care & Compassion
Hospice Cup funds help pay the expenses not covered by Medicare or private insurance. These dollars enable the hospices to provide skilled compassionate care, comfort and dignity to the terminally ill, their families and friends. Hospice enables patients to carry on alert, pain-controlled lives so their last days may be spent in comfort, at home or in home-like settings. Hospice care concentrates on care, not cure. Bereavement counseling and support groups are part of hospice services after the loss of a loved one.
