The 21st Annual Rhode Island AIDS Walk For Life 2008, Sunday, June 8, 2008, will attract more than 1,000 walkers and enhance AIDS awareness efforts while raising money for AIDS Project Rhode Island. Proceeds from AIDS Walk Rhode Island will enable us to continue providing critical services to people with HIV/AIDS and their families and delivering important prevention and education programs to our community.

While there is increasing hope for those with HIV/AIDS, there is still no cure. The new drug regimens work for many, but there are still people for whom the medical advances are inappropriate, out of reach, or simply not enough.

Beyond that, despite our best efforts the rate of new HIV infections are now beginning to rise after years of remaining steady. That means that the need for AIDS education and prevention has never been greater.
