The mission of the Albany Chapter of the Autism Society of America is to promote lifelong access and opportunities and to improve the quality of life for people on the autism spectrum and their families so they can be fully participating, included members of their communities. We do this through; advocacy, public awareness, education, compassionate support, and research related to autism.
The Albany ASA supports families across eleven counties in New York State whose lives have been touched by autism. The chapter provides educational seminars and materials, support groups, and we maintain a web site at www.albanyautism.org. For our members we offer conference stipends, family events, and a lending library.
One of the major goals for the Albany Chapter ASA is to open a resource center "The Autism House". This center will become the hub for the autism community and will provide resources, education, and recreation.
