Form 990 Purpose: The American Alpine Club was founded to promote the exploration and study of high mountain elevations throughout the world and polar regions, the cultivation of mountain craft, the knowledge relating to America's mountain resources and mountaineering, and to promote the preservation of mountain, polar, rock, and ice climbing regions.
