To all my friends and family,
I wanted you all to be apart of my Unbelievable Adventure. I was given such an amazing opportunity when I was accepted into the New York Marathon. As everyone knows in the running world it is a lottery where over 100,000 people enter and only 45,000 get the chance of a lifetime to run 26.2 miles. The marathon takes place in the 5 boroughs: Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan. Since I have been given an opportunity to run this challenging RACE, I thought I should challenge all of you to have the chance to affect the lives of many children.
In the last couple months I have seen what it feels like to truly affect others in what we can do for them. The little things you can do make such a difference in so many ways, we sometimes don't truly realize the power of "inspiring" others. All I can say is when you think of others first, it comes back to you triple in how it makes you feel inside. I have realized that power and have felt great pleasure in making that difference.
As we all know Life is what we make it and how we view each and every obstacle or journey. You can achieve anything you want in life. In the past I always put a limit to my possibilities, now my possibilites are limitless. I encourage you all to create possibilities each day and find that something that moves you and go for it!! I have so many dreams that are right at my fingertips that will become a reality soon. I am determined to run this race and finish this race and at the same time provide an amazing day for these kids.
If WE can provide one special day for these kids to enjoy and forget for that day the challenges they face I know WE have made a difference.
Please donate what you can to "Starlight" . I am very grateful for all donations. I promise to make this "Great Escape " a day to remember at Starlight. I will continue to keep you posted on my training. Below you will find more information about "Starlight". Thank you, Cantillon
"Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there. Champions aren't made in gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them----a desire, a dream, a vision.'

Children fighting serious medical conditions often feel like they are alone. They don’t get to see their friends as often as they would like. Most of their time is spent shuffling between hospital rooms or meeting with physicians. With so much commotion on the outside, it is easy to forget there is a child on the inside.
When a child or teenager has a serious medical condition, everyone in the family is affected. Your gift will ensure that more families have access to Starlight’s entertainment, education and family activity programs that have been proven to distract children from their pain, help them better understand and manage their illnesses, and connect families facing similar challenges so that no one feels alone. Won't you please show your support today by using this form to make a contribution?
Your participation enables Starlight to provide seriously ill children with a variety of programs and services that entertain and educate, and most importantly, provide them moments when they can forget about their medical condition and focus on what they do best – be kids.
My goal in raising these funds for Starlight Children's Foundation is to sponsor a Great Escape event
Great Escapes are family activities and events during which seriously ill children, their parents and their siblings can regroup as well as meet other families in similar circumstances. This community-building bolsters spirits and provides outlets for burried emotions during the most difficult times in a family's life. When a child is seriously ill, everyone in the family is affected. Young patients, parents and siblings struggle, in different ways, to grapple with the intrusion of illness or serious injury into their lives.
Everything about a Great Ecape is designed to make a sick child feel extra-ordinarily special, from the personalized invitations to being greeted by name at every event. As one young Starlight child said about Great Escapes, "I figured out that if I can look foward to going to the zoo on Tuesday, I can have hope for my future."
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
