Welcome to Opportunity Village's FirstGiving home page!
Based in Clear Lake, Iowa, the Village serves over 500 individuals with disabilities throughout the northern part of our state. By setting up your own FirstGiving page here, you can be an ambassador for Opportunity Village by reaching out to friends and family with our mission. Once you set up your site, you will be able to send e-mail messages to people with a link to your fundraising home page. All donations through your site help provide a better life for people with mental retardation and other disabilities.
This is the 40th year for the Opportunity Village Benefit Walk! The first "Youth March" for then "Handicap Village" was held in 1970, with hundreds of teenagers walking 10 miles from Mason City or Garner. Since then, the Opportunity Village Benefit Walk has raised over $1 million in support of people with disabilities. This year's goal is $100,000, to help purchase a generator for the Village's Activity Center.
