Orangutan Foundation International relies on the financial support of people from all around the world who share your concern and passion for protecting orangutans and their rainforest habitat.
Fighting for the forests, rescuing and nurturing orangutans, and upholding our promise to safeguard an endangered species that shares 97% of our DNA and deserves 100% of our commitment is a year-round, 24/7 effort requiring a steady flow of funding. We need your help!
And so, we've created a user-friendly way through "FirstGiving" to help you reach out to your friends and family and ask for their financial support.
Asking for money has never been easier! With a few clicks of your computer mouse, you'll quickly create your very own "FirstGiving" fundraising webpage linked to one or more of OFI's online "Events" including:
"Helping Orangutans Return to the Wild"
"Save Rawa Kuno Legacy Forest"
"Orangutan 5K Run/Walk for Survival - Fall 2012"
Step 2. "Select Your Event".
Step 3. At the top of the "Event" webpage, click on "Fundraise" to create a free account...then follow the super easy instructions for setting up your own fundraising page--in your name!
FYI: You can choose your campaign goal, upload photos, add personalized messages, stories and links, invite friends, and more! All donations made by your friends will show up on your webpage, and will be added to OFI's "Event" campaign goal. "FirstGiving" will handle ALL of the money (and send it to OFI), and will send an email to your donors (and to you) acknowledging their donations. You can even personalize your 'thank you' message.
Step 4. Spread the word. "FirstGiving" enables you to invite friends and family to donate to your personalized OFI campaign via Facebook, Twitter, emails, etc.
