Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am taking part in an amazing opportunity - the Triabetes/Triabuddies team through Insulindependance. I have been partnered with Sean McKendry in this effort. Sean also has Type 1, and he is going to compete in the Phoenix Ironman Triathlon. I have already gotten to know Sean and am looking forward to connecting with him throughout the summer/fall as he trains for this intense event. I hope to get more endurance and strength as I train with him.
In November, I will be traveling to California where I will go on a 3 day adventure trip with 14 other Type 1 kids like me. After this adventure, we drive to Arizona (stopping at Joshua Tree National Monument along the way). On Saturday before the Ironman, we will have a big team party and on Sunday, we will cheering everyone on.......and the best part, I will get to run with Sean, in the last part of his race - I hope to give him a boost of energy after all of the miles he will have swam, biked and ran already.
