Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. I am raising money for American Indian Youth as a member of Team Running Strong in the 34th annual Marine Corps Marathon. This will be my first marathon but I am an active triathlete and I enjoy running and cycling. During the summer of 2006 I spent two weeks on the Pine Ridge Reservation leading my church youth group on a mission trip with the organization Re-Member. During those two weeks I learned about the beauty of the Lakota culture and the despair that exists on Pine Ridge. I have been an advocate for the Lakota people ever since that experience. Last year, in an effort to stay connected with the people of Pine Ridge, I collected nearly 75 bicycles and repaired them and donated them to some young kids at Pine Ridge. The video from that trip is posted below. This year I am not able to make a return trip to Pine Ridge because of other Mission Work our church is doing and I wanted to find a way to help the people of Pine Ridge and I thought that running the Marine Corps Marathon and raising money for Team Running Strong was a great way to raise awareness and spread the word about the ongoing struggle of the people living on Pine Ridge. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate, too.
