Dear Family & Friends,
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.
Many of you know my connection to Huntington’s Disease.
Huntington’s Disease is a devastating, degenerative brain disorder which is also genetically inherited. HD slowly diminishes the affected individual’s ability to walk, talk, think and reason.
At the present time there is no cure.
There are over 30,000 people in the US currently diagnosed and each of their siblings and children have a 50% chance of developing this disease. There are several hundred families that are affected by HD right here in Connecticut .
HD is a “family disease”, not just because it is inherited, but because it profoundly affects the entire family emotionally, socially and financially.
We are fighting against time, in order to save our families.
But we are making a difference because We Care: through the Huntington’s Disease Society of (HDSA) Team Hope Walking for HD Walk-a-thon. I’ll be walking at Harkness Memorial State Park on Saturday May 16, 2009 to help raise funds for the care and cure of HD, and you can help too! Simply make a donation to HDSA and I’ll do the rest. You may also choose to join us in the walk.
Our Walk Goal this year is to raise $8,000!!! With your support, I hope to raise $500.
Please take a stand with me against this devastating disease by making a flat donation of $10, $25, $50 or whatever you can afford. Not only will you help me to achieve that goal, but you’ll also be helping the HDSA to fund vital research, education, and services for all those affected by HD.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Many thanks to all.
