Were you called "sissy", "fag" or "dyke" at school? Were you (or someone you love) ever picked on, put down, or beat up just for being yourself?

I was and it was devastating.  And that's why GSA for Safe Schools (GSafe) is so close to my heart today. WIth a tiny staff and a shoestring budget GSafe fights to stop bullying in schools.  They work directly with middle and high school students, teachers, school boards, legislators, and parents to ensure that students have a safe school environment where they can learn free from harassment and abuse.  How are kids ever going to blossom if they can't feel good about themselves?
