The Arc of Tennessee has been instrumental in the creation of virtually every program, service and benefit available to Tennesseans with mental retardation and other developmental disabilities and their families since 1952. The Arc of Tennessee makes changes that improve the lives of people with disabilities and is committed to creating opportunities for inclusion in their communities. The organization is a leader in making and changing policy, creating cutting-edge training programs, and advancing social transformation. By providing 1) a toll-free information and referral service; 2) training for professionals and parents; 3) Town Hall Meetings with key decision-makers across the state; 4) assistance for local chapters of The Arc; and 5) advocacy among legislators and government agencies, The Arc of Tennessee works for a world where people with disabilities are accepted, included and valued as contributing members.
The Arc of Tennessee works with The Arc of The United States, the nation's leading advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Arc of The United States will receive 15 percent of each donation to support national programs and advocacy. The local chapter of The Arc from your county will receive 50% of each donation to support programs in your community.
