Race of Our Lives - Unity Miles Event
Dani was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension (PH) in 2005 and has fortunately (and atypically) responded extremely well to her medication. Unfortunately, most other patients and families face much greater challenges.
In June 2014, Team PHenomenal Hope will compete in Race Across America (RAAM). The members of Team PHenomenal Hope will ride for 9 days; across 3,000 miles and 170,000 vertical feet of elevation. The riders will encounter physical challenges that are similar to those experienced by many PH patients and families.
Team PHenomenal Hope will be racing to raise PH awareness and to raise funds to support the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) and research for PH cure. To help support Team PHenomenal Hope, PHA has recently launched the Race of Our Lives campaign that will run until June 2014.
We (Sue and Camm) will participate in the Race of Our Lives campaign and support Team PHenomenal Hope by riding 50 miles on October 5, 2013 in Saratoga Springs, NY – our bike PHifty ride. A portion of the ride will be through the Saratoga National Historical Park, the site of the Battle of Saratoga (the turning point of the American Revolution). We hope our ride and others’ efforts will similarly contribute to the future turning point for PH treatments, and eventually a cure.
We are excited about Team Phenomenal Hope, RAAM and Race of Our Lives and the opportunities for raising PH awareness and research funds.
