As you complete the registration process, you will also have the option to join an existing walkathon team, form your own walkathon team, or bypass joining a team altogether. You must have a valid email address in order to register online for this event. All others must register by check with the event coordinator (contact information at right).

*TO THE GENEROUS SANTA BARBARA WALKERS & DONORS: the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA) considers your online registration fee and/or online donation as a contribution which is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law. PHA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization – Tax ID 65-0880021. PHA will mail you a tax acknowledgement letter for your online registration fee and/or online donation. Please allow 3 weeks from the date of online registration and/or donation for letter to arrive.

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a rare and often misdiagnosed disease. PH causes high blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries, making it harder for blood to flow through the lungs to pick up oxygen, which can lead to life-threatening consequences such as right heart failure. With early diagnosis, treatment can be administered with the hope to help patients live longer, fuller lives. Unfortunately, at this time there is no cure for PH, which is why fundraising and awareness-raising events like ours are so important.

Come join us for a 5K Fun Walk for a Cure in Santa Barbara! This event will raise awareness about pulmonary hypertension (PH) and 100% of proceeds will benefit research, finding a cure, and providing support for those struggling with this disease. The walk will take place at Chase Palm Park Center, 236 E Cabrillo, Santa Barbara, CA 93101.

There will also be a 6 Minute Fun Walk available to those with PH and/or others who prefer a shorter route. This route will be a short loop and feel similar to a 6-Minute Walk Test.
