Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
We really need your help. This year we will treat over 3000 injured and orphaned wild animals at Flint Creek Wildlife's 3 locations. We have 19 permanent resident birds of prey in our care for education programs and public exhibits. We run on a very lean budget and rely solely on donations to provide outstanding care. This year has been challenging financially since we incurred unplanned expenses when we opened our 3rd facility in Itasca.
If you don't know the story let me give you the quick version. Dawn started working with Birds of Prey as a Raptor Intern at Spring Brook Nature Center in Itasca. Through her involvement there and coming across an injured opposum we discovered a huge need for quality care for injured and orphaned wildlife in this area. She founded Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation and continued to volunteer at Spring Brook until the demands of Flint Creek Wildlife became too great and we focused solely on building what is now the largest privately funded Wildlife Rehabilitaion Center in the Chicagoland Area. Caring for over 2800 animals a year.
Fast forward 5 years and in April of this year, due to budget constraints, the Village of Itasca announces the termination of the Raptor Program at the Nature Center. When we heard the news, we knew something needed to be done to save the program. So we put together a proposal to privatize the program and in May we signed an agreement with the Village of Itasca to keep the birds of prey on display at the nature center and to reestablish a rehabilitation center at the Nature Center. This was truely a win-win scenario. Although not in our original plans for 2008.
We have made many improvements to the facility to provide the best possible care. The birds are on display for the community to enjoy and we have accepted over 600 new patients in Itasca alone. And we survived the 2nd 100 year flood in 20 years that left all of our newly completed work 2+ feet under water. So a busy year.
Donations make this possible and thats why we need your help. If you can make a donation great, if you know of other people who would be willing to support our work please pass this along. Or better yet create your own fundraising page and tell your friends, coworkers and family why you think its important to financially support our work. The more advocates the better.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
If you would prefer to donate by check, please mail to:

Best wishes,
Phil
