Our personal message:

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

My wife Wendy has had Lupus since 1991.  It has changed our lives forever and she has to suffer with it every single day.  She does not let it get her down, as she is always a happy person and shares her love with everyone.  Again this year, my daughter Helen (that's her in the photo) and I will be walking for my wife/her mom.

The chances are good that you also know someone suffering from this insidious disease.  Lupus is a chronic, inflammatory disorder of the immune system. The body develops antibodies that react against the person’s own normal tissue. This abnormal response can be very damaging. The course is unpredictable and individualized; no two patients are alike. Lupus is not contagious, infectious, or a form of cancer. It usually develops in young women of childbearing years, but many men and children also develop Lupus.  Lupus varies greatly in severity, from mild cases requiring minimal intervention to those in which significant and potentially fatal damage occurs to vital organs such as the lungs, heart, kidney, and brain.  In my wife's case, it has attacked her heart, causing painful bouts of pericarditis and pleurisy, as well as atrial fibrillation.

If you would like to donate to this very worthy cause and sponsor my walk, I'd ask that you click on the donate link here.  Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

I've kicked things off by donating $100.  For every additional $50 donated, I will donate an additional $5 to the cause.  The sky's the limit!

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
