Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I have been accepted to teach English in Thailand for one year through the nonprofit WorldTeach. I will be living in the Nakhon Phanom Province, which is located in the Northeastern part of the country. The standard of education there is very low, and students from the region have a difficult time competing with those from more wealthy areas. I want to spend a year teaching English in this province to help students become more competitive in future job markets and support their economic well-being. I will teach either elementary or secondary school students and assist Thai teachers in their own English classes.
I am so excited to begin this new chapter of my life but I need your help first! The program fee covers roundtrip airfare, health insurance, 24-hour field support, housing, food, and training. A donation of any amount will help me reach my goal and send me abroad to teach.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and completely secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts to teach English in Thailand for a year! To find out more about the WorldTeach Thailand 2009 program, please click here.
More About Me
I recently received my MSW from the University of Michigan and completed my internship at Creekside Community Development Corporation in Detroit, where I have worked with local residents to secure resources for their community gardens.
My Sincere Thanks
I want to extend my warmest gratitude for your support. I look forward to an upcoming year of volunteerism and personal growth.
Also, please forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Thank you,
Caitlyn
