The call came in this morning. A basset guardian had passed away on 3/16/08, leaving seven bassets homeless without a guardian! No arrangements had been made for their care or placement.......... and BaRNI was notified.
We are seeking emergency foster homes for these 7 basset hounds, an 8th basset is also incoming from a date with euthanasia thru Hesperia Humane - 8 hounds requiring emergency assistance.
Networking by and between BaRNI (Basset Rescue Network Inc) and BHRSC (Basset Hound Rescue of Southern California) with assistance from our local breed club; Basset Hound Club of Southern California (BHCSC) is currently in high gear and we will all work together to insure these bassets are taken care of.
If you would like to consider foster or adoption of one of these hounds, please call or email: Basset911@aol.com 661 269 2682
Although these hounds were well cared for, all are spayed and neutered and current on shots - financial support is needed for food, care and daily needs. Please consider making a donation to help keep these babies safe while they await permanent homes. We can only assit them with your support!

And please - in honor of the Playa Del Rey Seven, make sure your canines have your final wishes on file with your family, attorney and local rescue group in the event that a sudden situation may occur! The lives of your furkids depend on you! Notifying your local rescue group will ensure that they know what your wishes are in the event that they get the first call!
Thank you for assisting us in rescue efforts - your help makes it possible to save these lives!
