Police Unity Tour
Chapter IV
In May 1997, the Police Unity Tour was organized in an effort to bring about public awareness of law enforcement officers that have died in the line of duty, to honor their sacrifices and offer a powerful place of healing for survivors by supporting the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
The premier fund-raising event of the Police Unity Tour - Chapter IV is a 230-mile bicycle ride that will take place May 10-12, 2012. Chapter IV will start from Richmond Virginia head west to Charlottesville Virginia then coninue north to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C.. This three day ride ends on May 12, when over 1,000 bicyclists and 300 support members from all the other Police Unity Tour Chapters converge at the Memorial in an emotional, yet spectacular arrival ceremony witnessed by thousands.
The 2011 Police Unity Tour presented a check for $1.5000,000.00 to the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial Fund. Since 1997, the Police Unity Tour has raised nearly $10,000,000.00 for the Memorial Fund; solidifying its commitment that no fallen officer will ever be forgotten
