Meet Poppi!  This little basset girl was found very soon after her imbedded collar had been ripped out of her neck, leaving a gaping wound all the way around.  She was taken to a local vet by the Humane Society and turned over to Bluegrass Basset Rescue, Inc., for recuperation and rehoming.  Her bill was quite high for the antibiotics and wound care in addition to the standard vetwork of shots and tests.

Despite her horrible mistreatment at the hands of a human, she is a fun-loving dog who is not afraid of people.  She is quick to let her foster Mom know how she's feeling and which of her foster siblings she's tattling on!
