It's that time of year.   The time we Polar Bears come out and frolic in the balmy temps of  Central Missouri's February.  It is once again time for the Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge; Columbia's 2nd annual !

As many of you know, one of my trademarks is that I will almost never be seen wearing a winter coat.    In my youth I was frequently called Prestone Antifreeze.  Even so, breaking ice to jump into the water as we did last year -- well it may have been de régulier for our Black Labrador of years ago, but normal humans don't put it high on their "to do" lists.   I suppose that the 50% Canadian blood of mine helps a little.  

But it is the cause -- Special Olympics -- that counts.  This is a great organization that  brings real joy to some beautiful people in this world.  That is what motivates all of us to go to this effort.  The Special Olympics is a great cause and these kids get a real blast out of the games.  If you haven't, you should see the absolute joy on their faces!!  It is early in the year and I KNOW you have not used up your annual charity contributions, (and for those in my line of business), "don't you have a tax refund coming to you soon?".  

I need your support.   Consider what you would like to contribute to this worthy cause.   Either send me an email by the end of day Thursday the 12th of February with your promise of  your contribution and I will include it on my sheet I turn in on the day, -OR- you can visit the webpage I have below and use a credit card and do it all online TODAY.  Any checks you write should be made out to Special Olympics of Central Missouri.
