2012 Dysart's Snowmobile Ride-in to benefit Pine Tree Camp
On February 3-5th hundreds will gather in Newport, Maine for the 39th annual Dysart’s Snowmobile Ride-in to benefit Pine Tree Camp. Every year, the Newport community along with snowmobilers from all corners of Maine, come together to participate in a weekend of fun-filled events to raise money for Pine Tree Camp.
Pine Tree Camp is an amazing place. Since 1945, Pine Tree Camp has offered an extraordinary summer camp experience to Maine children and adults with disabilities. Each summer, 650 campers arrive at camp and enter a world that is barrier-free, leaving behind the confines of their disability to participate in outdoor activities like baseball, fishing, kayaking, and boating – experiencing freedom and independence.
At Pine Tree Camp, campers make friends for the first time. Friends that understand what they are going through. It is no wonder that Pine Tree Camp is the highlight of their year.
Over the years, the Snowmobile Ride-in has raised over $3.8 million to ensure that all of our campers are able to attend Pine Tree Camp, regardless of their ability to pay the $1,600 tuition. In fact, 99% of our campers receive full or partial camperships. Funds raised through the Snowmobile Ride-in help ensure that we are able to keep this Open Door policy in place.
