Each year, the Humane Society Savannah/Chatham receives thousands of homeless, unwanted animals, as well as beloved animals whose owners are no longer able to care for them. The mission is to provide humane care for these animals; to protect them from all forms of suffering caused by cruelty, neglect and ignorance; to prevent pet overpopulation through spaying and neutering; to promote responsible pet care through humane education; to foster a public sentiment of humanity and gentleness towards animals; and to enhance the quality of human life with animal companionship.
