Hello friends and family,
As most of you may know, the Reid's Ride Foundation is holding it's fourth annual 28 mile bike-a-thon in memory of a very special person, Reid Sacco. The foundation itself raises money for medical research in the Boston hospitals to find a cure for cancer, especially those which affect our youth. More than raise money, the foundation provides a reminder to all walks of life that cancer is a very real disease. For this reason, it is important to us young, surprisingly fit ladies that the fight never ends.
Reid Sacco was a very special person who the three of of us were priveleged enough to know. Diagnosed at 18 years old, Reid fought the disease for two years and taught us lessons along the way. A musical genius, Reid played four instruments in several orchestras. We decided to start a new generation girl band. Turns out we sold our instruments back in middle school. Reid was a star swimmer in the breaststroke. We took up swimming and have perfected the pencil dive. Capt. Reid was a role model for everyone- especially the children he taught how to sail. He was many other things to many people and we...well, we do our best. Which is why we ride in the bike-a-thon. To do our best and make a difference.
Please donate to our team for this years bike-a-thon. Donate for those loved ones who have experienced such joys and hardships as a result of cancer. We appreciate any support and motivation you can offer us to reach our goal.
Lourve,
Rachael Sacco, Aimee Proulx-Decain, and Liz Barron
