We will be doing a walk to support Solutions Pregnancy & Health Center (SPHC) to raise awareness of the 35–50 different kinds of sexually transmitted diseases (STD).  SPHC is a non-profit health center that is attempting to be the only medical center in NJ to do a full range of STD testing.  STDs are a silent epidemic.   STDs are the most common diseases in next to the common cold and flu.  STDs have infected 25% of Americans ages 15-55.  45 million Americans are infected with an incurable STD. By age 24, 1 in 3 sexually active individuals has contracted an STD. 

Could you be one? 

15 million new STDs occur each year in the U.S, 41,000 per day.  25% occur in teens (4 million infected) and 66% occur in those less than 25 years of age (6 million infected).  STDs can result in cervical cancer, infertility, pregnancy complications, grave illnesses with newborns, physical and emotion pain, liver failure and with some death. 80% infected with an STD do not develop the initial symptoms.  STDs often cause chronic pain and permanent damage.  STD infection increases the possibility of contracting AIDS. 

Over 500 women will be ministered to this year alone!  All services are free; such as:  pregnancy tests, ultrasound exams, 24-hour help line, abortion recovery, practical support (maternity & infant clothing & furnishings), options counseling, parent mentoring program, maternity home referrals, straight talk abstinence presentation.

Solutions Pregnancy & Health Center is having their annual Walk for Life on Sunday, September 27, 2008.
