In recognition of the resilient spirit of citizens affected by disaster, we have chosen to commemorate August 29th through Louisiana, My Heart, My Home Rebuild-A-THON, a day of rebuilding in the New Orleans metropolitan area. Our plan entails organizing individuals and teams of at least 10 members to provide a day of service with nonprofits that serve the grassroots community. Encourage your colleauges, friends and entire family to come out and participate in this exciting day! FREE REGISTRATION, REGISTER NOW! The day’s activities will begin with a rally at Congo Square in Louis Armstrong Park, after which Retired Lieutenant General Russel Honoré will deploy volunteers to take part in various service projects. We will conclude the day by returning to the park for food, entertainment and award ceremony.
Louisiana, My Heart, My Home is dedicated to increasing Louisiana’s level of preparedness and to cultivate a culture of philanthropy. These two aims are united in the understanding that creating a culture of giving that lifts up the most vulnerable among us results in more resilience during times of disaster and a better quality of life for all residents, beyond times of disaster.
