Families who have heard the words, "your child has cancer" followed by "there is nothing more we can do", have had their lives torn apart - & they are never, ever the same. Losing a child, regardless of the circumstances, is the worst kind of loss. Too often, families begin to unravel. They are left emotionally - & many times financially - devastated. Because each person grieves differently, even the closest family can drift apart. Everyone is struggling to "cope" only to find that the rally of supporters they grew to depend on during the illness may also disappear - leaving them to feel as though they have experienced two deaths...the death of their child & the death of their support system. Grief intensifies as life for everyone around them goes on as if nothing has changed, while their own world as they knew it no longer exists.

Through fundraising efforts & support of our community, Remember the Rainbows strives to make a significant difference in the lives of those who are struggling to cope as a changed family. Our programs offer opportunities for families to reconnect with one another through fun & laughter while spending time with others who have suffered a similar loss. We also recognize the importance of remembering the child who is no longer physically present, yet remains with them in spirit forever.
